Life After Work - February 16, 2005 Click to enlarge image
Our February 16 conference at the Graphic Communications Workers Hall in West St. Louis County was both stimulating and insightful. Titled "Life After Work," the half-day event featured an excellent roster of presenters, representing both business and labor interests.
The speakers included Bob Baugh, Executive Director of the AFL-CIO Industrial Council; Stanley Schroeder, Partner, McMahon, Berger, Hanna, Linihan, Cody & McCarthy, P.C.; Jeffrey Hartnett, Managing Member, Bartley, Goffstein, L.L.C.; Katherine Mahoney, Manager, Health Care Policy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Jerry Sackberger and Jerry Smith, consultants from A.G. Edwards.
The presentations addressed the challenges faced by Americans who have retired or are planning to retire as well as how employers and unions are dealing with crises in healthcare and globalization. Congratulations to the IRRA board members who put together this excellent program, including: Bill Barrows, Roz Sherman-Voellinger and Ed Harrick.

The program concluded with retirement planning advice and Q&A provided courtesy of A.G. Edwards.

NOTE: Bob Baugh's PowerPoint presentation is available for review, as is the text portion (in .pdf).
