Labor and Management Relations Association Membership Offers Networking Opportunities, Speaker Conferences and Online Directory
TheLabor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) – Gateway Chapter is the largest LERA chapter in the country, membership offers employers and labor organizations, legal and arbitration professions, and academic and government institutions opportunities to come together in terms of understanding both sides of the table.
The LERA – Gateway Chapter exists to provide information, research, education and social opportunities to make labor-management relations more compatible. LERA-Gateway does not take a position on behalf of labor or management, but rather will work in a social atmosphere to make their communications more readily available and workable.
“We are excited to kick off our membership drive with great news. Our LERA- Gateway Chapter will again receive merit awards from the National Labor and Employment Relations Association in January- 2008 in New Orleans.” The award is based upon several criteria including Outstanding Programming, Member Innovation, Community Involvement, Consistent Chapter Excellence, Chapter Communication, and Chapter to National.
The benefits for Members are multi-layered. There are opportunities to meet and mix with a variety of professionals across many industries through four or more social and educational functions during the program year. Dynamic speaker conferences are presented four times per year. Many of our events qualify for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) hours through the Missouri Bar.
”I joined LERA-Gateway two years ago to gain labor relations knowledge from the broad array of experienced people that make up LERA,” Commented John Settlemeyer, Operations Manager at the Supervalu-St. Louis Distribution Center. ” We are a unionized facility. I need to understand all aspects of this facility’s operations. I gained valuable insight from the speaker at the Arbitration: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly conference I attended.”
In an effort to promote avenues of communication, Members are listed in the LERA – Gateway Chapter Online Directory. Patrons and Co-Sponsors are listed in LERA – Gateway Chapter brochures, announcements and related materials as well as Gateway Chapter Online Directory.
Four levels of membership are offered including Student, Member, Co-Sponsoring Member and Patron. Fees range from $25.00 for students to $50.00 for regular members with a $50.00 per conference attendee fee. Co-sponsoring memberships are $300.00 per organizational listing (up to four persons listed and $20.00 per additional member) and three prepaid conference costs for a total of twelve for the year. Patron fees are $150.00 per person for the program year including conference costs.
